How to Donate to Haven
Haven of Northern Virginia is funded mainly by donations from individuals in the community who wish to support our work and by those who donate in memory of a loved one who has died.
Since 1976, Haven has provided grief support services, with no fees, thanks to contributions from the community. As an all-volunteer organization, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity, Haven commits its income to the direct support of its grief support programs. Your contributions are vital and are tax deductible.

Members of Haven of Northern Virginia’s leadership team had the pleasure of visiting The Closet of Greater Herndon on November 13 , 2025 to personally thank the organization for their continued and generous financial support through their grant program.
The Closet’s longstanding commitment to strengthening local nonprofits makes a meaningful difference in our ability to provide compassionate support, healing resources, and community programs to those experiencing grief and loss. Their belief in our mission helps ensure that Haven can continue offering free, quality services to all who need them.
